Meet
Dominick Marino
I’m Dominick Marino, a public servant, recovery advocate, and community leader dedicated to strengthening Ulster County from the ground up. With years of experience in behavioral health, supportive housing, and crisis services, I’ve worked directly with individuals and families facing some of life’s most difficult challenges. As Assistant Executive Director of Respite Services at People USA, I oversee peer-led crisis programs that provide real alternatives to hospitalization, helping people stabilize, reconnect, and move forward with dignity. In my role as County Legislator for District 10, I bring that same hands-on experience to public service.
I’ve focused on expanding access to mental health and substance use services, supporting first responders, advancing affordable housing solutions, and building partnerships that make our communities stronger and safer. This work is personal to me. I’m in recovery, and that lived experience drives my commitment to meet people where they are, reduce stigma, and create systems that actually work for those who need them most. Whether it’s advocating for policy, collaborating with local organizations, or showing up for neighbors in need, I believe real leadership starts with listening, accountability, and action.

Winning the 2025 election was hard fought, and flipping a seat many had written off as impossible was a meaningful win for our community. But this was never about one race; it was about building momentum for real, lasting progress. Our work is just beginning, and as we look ahead to 2026, I’m committed to putting in that same level of effort to reach voters, stay present in our communities, and earn continued trust. At the same time, I’m working alongside my colleagues to govern responsibly and deliver results. We’re off to a strong and productive start in the Ulster County Legislature, and I’m focused on keeping that momentum going.
Community Involvement

Working Families Endorsement
As a member of the Health & Human Services, Law Enforcement & Public Safety, and Housing & Transportation Committees, I focus on the issues that directly impact everyday life in Ulster County. I’ve sponsored legislation to strengthen support for survivors of domestic violence in the workplace, and co-sponsored efforts to ease financial pressure on residents, including a proposal to cap sales tax on gas during price spikes. I supported increasing the county’s shared sales tax with municipalities to ensure our towns have the resources they need to operate and serve residents effectively. I’ve also worked to expand access to care by supporting the development of a new crisis support center in Ulster County, while continuing hands-on work with residents navigating emergency services, housing instability, and rising utility costs. From advancing practical, affordable housing solutions to helping individuals access the services they need in real time, my approach is simple: stay present, listen, and deliver results that people can actually feel in their day-to-day lives.
